Strengthening Its Services, Dahana Recruits New Employees

PT DAHANA is back to recruiting new employees to strengthen the composition of its human resources in serving the customer needs. The recruitment resulted a total of 21 new employee candidates screened from several national universities.

The 2012 recruitment process was conducted based on the personnel required by the work units, in accordance with the company’s business which continues to develop and grow. Aside from that, the recruitment was intended for regeneration, addition and replacement of employees in certain work units. They were estimated to be inactive by a few years to come due to retirement, resignation, etc.

In this 2012 recruitment, the position required was Management Trainee from various departments i.e.. Undergraduates from Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Management and Diploma graduates from Logistics, Electrical and Chemical Analysis.

According to the Senior Manager of Human Resources and Organizational Development (PSDMO), Doddy Bambang Priambodo, the 2012 recruitment was done by two methods, i.e. On Campus Recruitment and Public Recruitment. "On Campus Recruitment is specifically intended ​​to recruit Mining Department Graduates from three universities, namely UNISBA Bandung, Sriwijaya University Palembang and UPN Veteran Yogyakarta," said Doddy.

The PSDMO Division of PT DAHANA worked together with persons from other work units who would be acting as users. Together they visited the Engineering Departments at the abovementioned universities. The theme carried out for the “On Campus Recruitment” was “Introduction, Prospect and Career Opportunities at PT DAHANA (Persero)". The recruitment itself was divided into two stages which were Stadium Generale and Recruitment Test.

"The Stadium Generale stage was able to attract more than 250 undergraduate students of Mining Engineering Universities, currently in their final year," said Doddy.

Aside from giving public lectures and knowledge of Drilling & Blasting Technology, the Recruitment Team also encouraged students to develop their curiosity towards the scope of business activities of PT DAHANA (Persero) by carrying out quiz games and question-and-answer session. Besides that, the event was also filled with Dahana’s corporate-identity-themed door prize giveaways, plaque and souvenir distribution.

After completing the stadium generale session, the undergraduate students and alumni who had signed up earlier underwent Competency Test, TOEFL Test and interview. The tests resulted 21 candidates ready to undergo more advanced tests that will be conducted simultaneously with the “Public Recruitment” test.

Overall, each participant will have to undergo quite long test stages which include Administration Screening, Competency Test, TOEFL Test, Interview, Psychological Test, Medical Check Up and Personnel Screening/Examination.

The employee recruitment is conducted on regular basis. According to Corporate Secretary of PT DAHANA, Asep Maskandar, this program was set by the company in effort of supporting the repositioning of Dahana’s business towards service provider, where the role of human resources would be very vital in achieving business success.

"The Human Resources’ target has already been determined, in which by the next 5 years the core competence of our resources will have reached 50%. To support the target, we are currently working on major program processes, including reorganization, system reformation and competency development," said Asep Maskandar.
