Dahana Waves Its Flag in the Construction Sector
Quarry & Construction Division, one of the divisions beside General Mining Division and Oil & Gas Divisions, is actively expanding its business on the construction beside their regular mining works.
Jatigede Project, that is one among many prestigious projects which is run under cooperation between the Government of China and PT Waskita Karya (BUMN), is successfully won by this division. This project will run for the next 5 [five] years consisting of Warehouse construction and its permit, Blasting quarry, and supply of explosives.
As a form of appreciation on the achievement, on Tuesday 14 July 2009, BOD of PT Dahana (Persero), Tanto Dirgantoro (President Director), Budi Antono (Operational Director), F. Harry Sampurno (Finance & Business Development Director) visited Jatigede Project accompanied by Subiyanto as the GM of Quarry & Construction Division.
After the Tunneling project with PT Waskita Karya and quarry project with Sinohydro in Jatigede, the division will participate into other project by winning a quarry project with PT Waskita Karya in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, and lastly, the company signed a Drilling & Blasting contract for Steam Power Plant (PLTU) West Sumatra with PT PT Rekayasa Industri.
The contract for PLTU 2×112 Megawatts Project in West Sumatra has been signed on 8 June 2009 and will be ended on November 2009. This is relatively short project, and is planned for 5.5 months. However, this project is one of Dahana’s steps to penetrate the market for constructions companies in Indonesia.
Dahana is also trusted to conduct Drilling & Blasting for mountain cutting in Bungus area, West Sumatra, where PLTU will be constructed as part of government’s 10,000 Megawatts project. The volume to be achieved within ± 3.5 month works is 190,000 BCM which is probably not that big, but the level of difficulty is high as the mountain area has never been accessed before, meaning that extra attention is needed for the access road to the blasting area and the preparation of blasting location.
For this project, Dahana also offers Pre-splitting Service which will be carried out by trained and professional personnel.
The ongoing construction projects are PLTU – West Sumatra 1×112 MW, Jalan Tayan Project – West Kalimantan. In addition, the on-progress projects are among others Mangan Project, Lombok – NTB, Road Project Semarang, PLTU Gorontalo, Tunnel Geyem – Papua, Tunnel Semarang, etc.
These projects are Dahana’s steps to keep on waving its ‘flag’ in the national construction sector.
